A MUM whose face was left covered in blood after Russia blitzed her apartment block has pleaded with Putin to stop the war.  Olena Kurilo, 52, also urged Russian mothers not to let their children go to battle, adding: “We want to live.” GettyOlena Kurilo was 25 metres from the epicentre of a missile explosion[/caption] She called the war meaningless and said it will bring no one happiness, adding: “I really want to see my future grandchildren, hold them in my arms, teach them.“ The kindergarten teacher, who is half-Russian, was 25 metres from one of Putin’s missiles in Cheuhuev, Ukraine.  Her bloody face was on front pages across the world and became the image of the the Russian leader’s war. She told how shattered glass cut through her face and into her eye when she was in her flat as a missile fell. She told MailOnline: “Never have I thought in my life I’d look death in the face and see war. I could never imagine it even in the worst nightmares. “We have a two-room apartment. I don’t know why, but I sat on the couch in the bedroom. And then there was an explosion.” Most read in News BATTLE Live Ukraine updates: Russian forces 20m from Kyiv as 198 dead including 3 children ON THE WARPATH Putin's NATO warning as other countries could face 'military consequences' DEATH MACHINES Putin's terrifying rockets that 'explode' enemy's lungs 'heading to Ukraine' 'FIGHTING BACK' 'Hundreds of Russians captured near Kyiv' as Putin fails to take capital BATTLESHIPS Russian cargo ship SEIZED in English Channel for 'violating EU sanctions' UNDER SIEGE Horror moment ‘Russian’ missile hits Kyiv home as 198 dead in Ukraine invasion All the windows and the door were blown out and she covered herself a bit.
