VLADIMIR Putin’s Russian forces are “eradicating towns” in Ukraine as a “large scale offensive” is expected soon according to Ukrainian officials. Pavlo Kyrylenko, the Donetsk governor, said the battles are heating up, adding that Russian forces are “eradicating our towns and villages”. This comes amid fears Vladimir Putin could be set to launch a fresh offensive in the coming weeks, as fighting continues to rage on. Serhiy Haidai, the Luhansk governor, said shelling in the region has reduced as “the Russians have been saving ammunition for a large-scale offensive” in Ukraine. Despite new offensive plans, Russian forces continue to suffer significant losses as a further 870 troops were killed according to Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence.
