Ukraine war news latest: Putin’s Wagner Group ‘no better than Russian army’ as Zelensky vows he will ‘never surrender’

UKRAINIAN leader Volodymyr Zelensky remained defiant as he swore Ukraine would “never surrender” to Russia during his address to US Congress, which ended with a standing ovation. Zelensky gave an impassioned speech, telling representatives: “Your money is not charity. It’s an investment in the global security and democracy that we handle in the most responsible way.” He also warned that Russia has a significant military advantage with more missiles, planes, and weapons. This comes as the Kremlin massively ramps up its use of the Putin-allied Wagner Group mercenaries from 1,000 to 20,000. According to the BBC, the brutal mercenary group, which is known for its “needless and indiscriminate violence”, has begun recruiting masses of troops from prisons in a bid to boost Putin’s stumbling army.
