THE Kremlin has warned that US supplies of Patriot missiles to Ukraine will not deter Russia from achieving its military goals. Yesterday, the Biden administration announced $1.85bn (£1.54bn) in new military support to Kyiv, including for the first time, the delivery of Patriot missiles. President Zelensky said this support would significantly enhance his country’s air defence and stop Moscow from hitting further critical infrastructure. However, Vladimir Putin’s spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, suggested that the US was fighting a proxy war with Russia and that providing troops with more sophisticated weapons would not end the conflict. During a call with reporters, Peskov said: ”This is not conducive to a speedy settlement, quite the contrary.
