ONE of Putin’s closest allies has reportedly been killed in a suspected “car bomb” as Ukrainian forces continue to fight Russia’s brutal invasion. Bardin Artem Igorevich, who was placed in charge of the Ukrainian city of Berdyansk by the Kremlin, was reportedly killed in an explosion seen and heard across the city. Footage showed Igorevich’s car ablaze, just moments after an explosion hit the city in Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia region. Putin’s man was quickly rushed to hospital but later died of his wounds, according to Yaroslav Trofimov, Chief Foreign Affairs Correspondent for the Wall Street Journal, quoting the Russian military regime in Zaporizhzhia. While Ukraine is yet to take responsibility for the attack, reports suggest pro-Ukrainian forces were responsible. This is just one of a number of targeted attacks in recent weeks, as the net tightens on Putin’s inner circle. Former NATO chief Gary Tabach, now based in Kyiv, said Ukrainian forces were “hunting down” Kremlin sympathisers in the occupied territories. He told The Sun Online: “Guys who betrayed Ukraine; some of the deputies, some of the leaders of Ukraine who ended up in Russia right now voluntarily, will be for the rest of their lives hunted down. “Ukrainians have a very good imagination, they’re very innovative and are good at tracking them down.” Read our Ukraine-Russia blog below for the latest updates…
