Ukraine news latest — Zelensky will not ‘abandon’ Bakhmut as Putin’s Wagner group face ‘difficulty’ with current tactics

VOLODYMYR Zelensky has issued a fierce warning to Russian forces as he refused to “abandon” the the besieged city of Bakhmut. During his nightly address, Zelensky said he had met with senior Ukrainian generals where they indicated their support for continuing the defence. He said: “I told the Chief of Staff to find the appropriate forces to help the guys in Bakhmut. There is no part of Ukraine about which one can say that it can be abandoned.” It comes as the UK’s Ministry of Defence claimed the Wagner mercenary group were struggling with Vladimir Putin’s current tactics. The Ministry said: “Public disagreements between the Wagner Group and Russian Ministry of Defence over the allocation of munitions highlights the difficulty in sustaining the high levels of personnel and ammunition required to advance with their current tactics.” Read our Ukraine war blog below for the latest news…
