VOLODYMYR Zelensky has claimed Ukraine will defend the devastated eastern city of Bakhmut “but not at any price”. Speaking to the Italian daily Corriere Della Sera, Zelensky said: “Yes, it is not a particularly big town. In fact, like many others in Donbas, devastated by the Russians.” The Ukrainian added: “It is important for us to defend it, but not at any price and not for everyone to die.” It comes as the US has claimed that China is considering providing “lethal support” to Russia in a move that “would have serious consequences”.
