UKRAINE’S President, Volodymyr Zelensky, has accused Putin of “energy terrorism” after 4.5 million Ukrainians were left without power following Russia’s attacks on the energy network. Russia have launched several attacks within the past week on Ukraine‘s energy network, through the use of large-scale missile and drone attacks. According to Zelensky, Putin has destroyed a third of the country’s power stations. In his nightly address on Thursday, Zelensky said: “Tonight, about 4.5 million consumers have been temporarily disconnected from energy consumption…The very fact that Russia is resorting to energy terrorism shows the weakness of our enemy.” It comes as Russian officials say troops are likely to withdraw from the west bank of the Dnipro River in Kherson and have urged civilians to leave.
