THE UK’s Ministry of Defence claimed it is a “realistic possibility that Wagner and Russian commanders have paused feuds” after Russia regained some momentum in Bakhmut. In the UK’s MoD’s latest intelligence update it was claimed “Russia has made further gains” as they are once again “using artillery more effectively in the sector”. It comes as China’s Xi Jinping has been urged to “bring Russia to its senses” by French President Emmanuel Macron as nuclear tensions rise. This call for peace comes following a string of nuclear threats by the Kremlin since Russia’s brutal dictator, Vladimir Putin, launched his bloodthirsty invasion of Ukraine last year. Speaking during a visit to Beijing, President Macron told his Chinese counterpart: “I know I can count on you, under the two principles I just mentioned, to bring Russia to its senses and bring everyone back to the negotiating table”.
