Ukraine news latest – Russian athletes in Olympics would ‘show terror is acceptable’ & Putin steps up attacks in Donetsk

VOLODYMYR Zelensky has slammed the the IOC, claiming that if Russian athletes are allowed to compete at the Olympics it would show that “terror is somehow acceptable”. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has said Russian and Belarusian athletes could compete as neutrals at the Paris 2024 games. In Zelensky’s nightly address he said: “Attempts by the International Olympic Committee to bring Russian athletes back into the Olympic Games are attempts to tell the whole world that terror is somehow acceptable.” The Ukrainian added that nations “must speed up the events, speed up the supply and opening of new necessary weaponry options for Ukraine.” It comes as Vladimir Putin has stepped up attacks in the eastern Donetsk region as Ukrainian forces needed new weapons to confront a “very tough” situation of constant attacks.
