Ukraine news latest — Russia warns NATO of ‘significant expansion of conflict’ as Finland joins alliance

RUSSIA has sent a warning to NATO after Finland officially joined the alliance today making them the 31st member. Finalnd’s Foreign Minister, Pekka Haavisto handed over documents to US Secretary of State Antony Blinken in Brussels cementing the accession. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov claimed Finland’s accession to NATO risks “a significant expansion of the conflict” and warned Russia will respond depending on what weapons are place there. He said: “We will closely monitor what will be going on in Finland and how NATO will use the territory of Finland for the deployment of weapons, equipment and infrastructure next to our border that would potentially threaten us.
