VLADIMIR Putin attempted to launch a hypersonic ballistic missile as Joe Biden gave a speech in Ukraine, US officials have revealed. President Biden hailed the “heroes of Ukraine” and said the West will never allow Putin’s “abhorrent” forces to win the bloody war during a speech in Kyiv yesterday. But according to CNN, two US officials claim Russia carried out a test of the Sarmat missile system – nicknamed Satan II and capable of delivering multiple nuclear warheads – but the launch failed. And in a speech later in the day, Putin also vowed Russia would ditch participation in a key arms control treaty – further ramping up the nuclear danger with the West.
