VLADIMIR Putin has revealed plans to significantly strengthen Russia’s military in the coming years, following a series of humiliations in Ukraine. The Russian ministry of defence announced the plans, which include improving the Kremlin’s nuclear capacity, on Tuesday. “Only by strengthening the key structural components of the Armed Forces is it possible to guarantee the military security of the state and protect new entities and critical facilities of the Russian Federation,” defence minister Sergei Shoigu said. This comes as world leaders met in Davos for the World Economic Forum. The annual meeting has so far been dominated by talking of Putin’s brutal invasion, with Ukraine’s first lady Olena Zelenska addressing attendees and warning Russia would not stop with its bloodthirsty war in Ukraine.
