POLAND becomes the first country to provide Ukraine with four Leopard tanks which arrived in Kyiv on the one-year anniversary of Russia’s invasion. Standing alongside Ukrainian President Zelensky, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said: “Poland and Europe stand by your side. We will definitely not leave you, we will support Ukraine until complete victory over Russia.” G7 also announced that they’re looking into strengthening sanctions against Russia as they plan measures against diamond exports, which is a controversial issue across Europe. Leaders of the Group of Seven said: “We call on third-countries or other international actors who seek to evade or undermine our measures to cease providing material support to Russia’s war, or face severe costs.” The US added to the announcements, saying that it will aid Ukraine with more military equipment such as drone and anti-drone systems.
