NUCLEAR fears are escalating in Ukraine after Russia was accused of holding the Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant “hostage” by Volodymyr Zelensky. The Ukrainian President claimed its safety could not be guaranteed until Russian forces left nuclear plant. Vladimir Putin’s troops have occupied Europe’s largest nuclear plant, Zaporizhzhia, since the early weeks of the invasion of Ukraine. Speaking in his nightly address, Zelensky said: “Holding a nuclear power station hostage for more than a year – this is surely the worst thing that has ever happened in the history of European or world-wide nuclear power.” It comes as Vitali Klitschko claimed multiple explosions were hit Kyiv on Monday night following a drone attack.
