Ukraine news latest — Ministry of Defence refuses to deny claims that UK has special forces on the ground after US leak

THE MINISTRY of Defence has refused to deny claims that the UK has troops on the ground in Ukraine after US “top secret” documents were leaked online. According to one of the documents that appeared online, it is claimed that the UK is among many other Western allies that have military special forces operating inside Ukraine. The US government are continuing to investigate the source of the leak; with Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin claiming they will “turn over every rock”. According to the document, the UK has the largest number of special forces in Ukraine sitting at 50, followed by fellow Nato states Latvia who has 17, France 15, the US 14 and the Netherlands just one. The UK’s Ministry of Defence has not denied the claim, however they did state that the leak “demonstrates a serious level of inaccuracy” and that “readers should be cautious about taking at face value allegations that have the potential to spread disinformation”.
