VLADIMIR PUTIN hoped to gain Russia comparable power to the former Soviet Union as he expected the West to collapse and countries to drop out from Nato, leaked documents revealed. The Sun Online obtained leaked documents from inside the FSB security service which showed that Putin justified his invasion of Ukraine by citing Poland and Baltic states joining Nato as a threat.
