Ukraine news latest: Iranian support for Russian military set to grow as Putin attempts to obtain more weapons

IRANIAN support to the Russian military is likely to continue to grow in the coming months, according to the Ministry of Defence. The news comes after the latest intelligence report claimed Iran has become one of Russia’s ”top military backers” since Putin’s forces invaded Ukraine. The Ministry of Defence said: ”Russia is attempting to obtain more weapons, including hundreds of ballistic missiles. ”In return Russia is highly likely offering Iran an unprecedented level of military and technical support that is transforming their defence relationship.” If Russia is successful in obtaining a large number of Iranian ballistic missiles, Putin’s forces will likely use them to continue and expand attacks against Ukraine’s infrastructure, the MoD added.
