RUSSIAN strikes left 1.5m without power as part of Putin’s “energy war” – as his weakening army “lacks troops” to mount a new campaign. Russian drone strikes in the port city of Odesa left a staggering 1.5million people without electricity on Saturday and thousands more without access to water. But it comes as Russian losses continue to rise. The British Ministry of Defence (MoD) said: “Russia’s strategy is currently unlikely to achieve its objectives: it is highly unlikely that the Russian military is currently able to generate an effective striking force capable of retaking these areas.” “Russian ground forces are unlikely to make operationally significant advances within the next several month,” it added.
