A top US official has said the world could be experiencing a “new Nuremberg moment” as evidence of “war crimes” is discovered in every region hit by Putin’s brutal invasion. According to the US state department’s ambassador for global criminal justice, Beth Van Schaack, every single region Putin’s forces have attacked may have been subject to war crimes. This comes as Ukrainian troops discovered “four torture chambers” in Kherson. She said Russia’s invasion of Ukraine “has been accompanied by systemic war crimes committed in every region where Russian forces have been deployed.” These crimes include “deliberate, indiscriminate and disproportionate” attacks against civilian populations as Putin’s bloodthirsty invasion rages on. She added that these crimes could see the world face a “new Nuremberg moment,” referring to the trial of Nazi collaborators held at the end of WW2.
