THE Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant has reportedly been shelled “15 times” in the last two days, reports have claimed. According to Russian officials, Ukraine has continued to shell the Zaporizhzhia plant, with 15 missiles hitting the power station this weekend, leading to fears of a Chornobyl-style disaster. Ukraine claims it is Russia committing the attacks. Renat Karchaa, an adviser to the head of Russia’s Rosenergoatom nuclear power company, told Russia’s TASS news agency: “They not only shelled yesterday, they are shelling today, shelling right now. “As of now, about 15 hits at nuclear power plant facilities have been recorded. Any artillery strikes on the nuclear plant put nuclear safety at risk.” This comes as, according to the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence, Putin’s losses reached 84,000 since its brutal invasion began in February.
