In the days following the deadly January 6, 2021, attack on Capitol Hill, leaders of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) created an independent commission to investigate the insurrection. That panel was modeled after a commission made to investigate 9/11, and has brought to light the DHS’ apparent lack of concern toward domestic terrorism.
