Sailor ‘mauled by shark’ leaving him fighting for life with serious injuries as medics rush to scene

A SAILOR has been left fighting for his life after he was reportedly mauled by a shark. Emergency services rushed to the scene near Port Hedland in Australia following reports a man in his 30s was seriously injured. He was treated by paramedics at the scene and then taken to Hedland Health Campus as a priority-one patient. It is believed the man was attacked far off the coast, while on a boat in the area. The Royal Flying Doctor Service was also at the scene in case the man needed to be transferred to Perth. Police and ambulance crews remain at the scene. Experts from the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development are investigating the incident.
