Sikorski told Ukrainian channel Espreso TV this breach would justify the delivery of nuclear weapons from the West. He suggested it would “give Ukraine the opportunity to defend its independence”. Ukraine agreed to hand over all nuclear weapons left in the country in the wake of the fall of the Soviet Union. But the Kremlin was not best pleased by his comments, claiming he was antagonizing the already fragile situation. The Head of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, Viacheslav Volodin, immediately hit back at Sikorski’s suggestions. He wrote on his Telegram channel: “With such deputies, the Europeans will have much more serious problems than those they have already faced today (refugees, record inflation, energy crisis). Despite Western countries remaining reluctant to supply even some conventional weaponry, Russia has made it clear they will not be beaten by nuclear warfare. At the start of the month, Putin unleashed a hypersonic missile on NATO supply lines inside Ukraine in an attempt to stop arms crossing the border. In case his suggestions are fulfilled, these countries will cease to exist, as will Europe as well. Viacheslav Volodin Kalibr cruise missiles were launched from a warship in the Black Sea which struck the Beskydy railway tunnel in the Carpathian Mountains. They also earlier teased allies by practicing nuclear missile strikes and chemical attacks on NATO’s border. That was soon followed by a disturbing warning from Putin’s space chief, who threatened to wipe out half of Europe. Dmitry Rogozin hinted he would deploy the deadly Satan-II missile after foreign minister Sergei Lavrov was blocked from travelling to Serbia for a two-day trip. And last month, Russia threatened to nuke the UK and Finland “in seconds” as it accused the West of launching a “total hybrid war”. It is evident any aid supplied to Ukraine which may make them a fiercer opponent could provoke Russia into desperate action. Putin’s henchmen previously said they would strike military targets in the UK after Britain supplied weapons to Ukraine.
