Sanctions tracking service Castellum.Ai has calculated that the United States and its allies have slapped a total of nearly 11,800 sanctions against Russia since the start of the Ukrainian crisis in 2014, with 9,200 of them imposed after Russia started its special military operation in Ukraine.
