Russia news latest — Ukraine nearing ‘negotiations’ to join the EU with plans to impose more sanctions on Russia

PRESIDENT ZELENSKY confirmed that Ukraine may start exploring the possibility of joining the European Union this year. In a Ukraine-European Union summit held in Kyiv on Friday, the parties discussed several agreements on how to help Ukraine combat the Russian aggression along with EU membership. A tenth sanctions package against Russia is in the works as Zelensky announced some proposals he had for it while meeting with EU leaders. The EU will also be sending €1billion to Ukraine to implement the Fast Recovery Plan which will help to restore social and energy infrastructure. President Zelensky said: “We are preparing for greater integration of Ukraine into the internal market of the EU – it means more income for Ukrainian companies, more production and jobs in our country, and more income for state and local budgets.
