Kremlin websites down & Russian TV channels ‘hacked to broadcast Ukrainian songs’ after Anonymous declares war on Putin

THE Kremlin’s official website is down amid reports of cyberattacks as hackers broadcast Ukrainian songs on Russian television. Six Russian Government websites were taken out of action earlier this afternoon, according to Ukraine’s state telecommunications agency. The official Kremlin page went down on Saturday after reports of cyberattacks GettyHacking group Anonymous tweeted it has “onoing operations to keep .ru government websites offline”[/caption] As of 18:30GMT, the web pages are still failing to load with the message: “This Page Cannot Be Displayed. The system cannot communicate with the external server ( government.ru ). “The internet server may be busy, may be permanently down, or may be unreachable because of network problems.” Webpages for Russia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Security Service, and Cabinet of Ministers are included in the outages. It is not immediately clear what has caused the websites to crash however international hacking group Anonymous tweeted on Saturday it was “at war with Russia” and to “stay tuned”. The websites appear to have had interrupted connectivity since Russian launched his full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Russian TV channels have also been hacked to broadcast Ukrainian music, the Kyiv Independent reported on Saturday afternoon. It comes as Ukrainian forces captured “hundreds” of Russian troops near the capital Kyiv, one of the country’s MPs has claimed.
