Kenya to Build Seven Dams Worth $2.4 Billion to Address Water Shortage

Since taking office in September 2022, Kenyan President William Ruto has pledged to construct at least 100 dams to address the water shortage and support development in the country, which is facing severe droughts, with millions of people in need of food aid as a result of the current drought, the worst drought in over 40 years.
