A PLASTIC surgeon is said to have who left the face of a runner-up in the Miss Russia contest horrifically mutilated has gone on trial. Blonde beauty Yulia Tarasevich, 44, was the runner-up in the Mrs Russia-International contest 2020, when she decided to have a cosmetic surgery which went horribly wrong. The gorgeous beauty queen has filed charges against the surgeonscen She’s been left “disfigured” after the horrific operationcen She planned to get a facelift, a cosmetic correction of the eyelids, and a mini-liposuction, at a private clinic in December 2020. Yulia had allegedly been persuaded to do the operation by 45-year-old surgeon Andrei Komarov, but instead of improving her looks, she was left with a “mutilated” face. She was also unable to close her eyes or even move her face as a result of the allegedly botched procedures at the practice in the city of Krasnodar in southern Russia. Yulia had emergency follow-up surgery by another doctor to save her eyes from necrosis, she said in a complaint. Mother of two Yulia said that she paid £3,000 for the operations, after which her face became badly swollen and inflamed. She ended up spending a further £20,000 to try and correct the problems but without any success, and afterwards decided to file a criminal complaint over the botched treatment. The Prosecutor’s Office of the Krasnodar Territory that investigated her complaint against two surgeons said they had decided to charge one of them. Dr Komarov will be prosecuted over providing services that “did not meet the requirements of consumer health safety”, as they negligently caused serious bodily harm, local media announced. If convicted, the doctor, who denies the charges, faces up to six years in jail and a fine of up to £4,970. After the case has been completed, he is also facing a civil case for damages from the former beauty queen. The civil damages case has already been filed alongside the criminal case being heard at the Leninsky District Court of Krasnodar. Yulia claims that as well as symptoms which mean that her eyelids do not close properly, atrophy of the soft tissue in the face that left her unable to smile properly, and a lack of symmetry following the surgeries, she has also developed problems with her mental health and suffers from depression. The surgeons claim Yulia had a rare genetic condition – scleroderma – which made it impossible to predict and deny responsibility for her nightmare. She told local media: “When I came to them, I had a beautiful, healthy face. I just wanted to correct some small things and slow down the ageing process. In the end, though, I lost my beauty and my health.” Omar Khaled claimed that Yulia Tarasevich had a rare condition called sclerodermaCEN Andrey Komarov also denies all chargesCEN She was a runner up in a Miss Russia contest in 2020CEN Now she’s lost her beautyCEN
