A DAD who lost half his brain in a drug lab explosion has shared how he is “paying the price” for his mistake. The incident that happened in February 2017, caused him severe head injuries with surgeons being forced to remove half of his skull after his brain started swelling. I’ve had almost 50 surgeries so far. “People think that the doctors took away half of my brain, but fortunately that’s not the case.” Recalling the first time he saw himself after the incident he said: “It was an absolute shock. I looked like a monster. “My son was one year old at the time. It saddens me not to be able to play the guitar, piano and keyboards anymore.” The musician also suffered four strokes and was left paralysed on one side. He now relies on a wheelchair and a walking aid. He said it is theoretically possible to reconstruct his skull bone with an implant, “but there is not enough scalp due to the burns to reinsert a skull bone replacement”. To make things worse, the rapper had to file for bankruptcy as he ended up owing over £200,000 for hospital costs. And he is also threatened with a trial for trading in narcotics and negligently causing an explosive blast. But these setbacks have not deterred the rapper, who has been archiving files for a historical research office since 2019.
