A BUSINESS owner was dubbed the “best boss in the world” after she gave all her staff $10,000 (£8.3k) each and two first-class tickets anywhere as a thank you bonus. Sara Blakely dished out the lavish gifts after her underwear company Spanx received a record-breaking valuation of $1.2billion. As she spins the object, she can be heard saying “why am I spinning a globe?” and then drops the bombshell news. “I’m spinning a globe because to celebrate this moment I have bought each one of you two first-class tickets to anywhere in the world,” she says. As staff broke into tears, she continued: “You know, if you want a trip, you might want to go out to a really nice dinner, you might want to go out to a really nice hotel so, with every one of those two first-class tickets to anywhere in the world, you are each getting $10,000.” READ MORE REAL-LIFE STORIES MEALY GRIM I'm a mum and kept McDonald's & pizza for 2 YEARS to show it 'never goes off' NEW BABY Britain’s biggest family gets even bigger as Sue Radford announces new arrival Blakely also acknowledged the struggles women face in getting investors to fund their ideas, claiming that although 50 per cent of entrepreneurs are women, only 2.3 per cent get funding from investment firms. Addressing the room, she said: “This is a very big moment for each and every one of you, and I want to also toast the women that came before me and all of the women in the world who have not had this opportunity. “So at a moment like this, I think of my mom and my grandmother and their lack of options and all the women that came before them.” She started Spanx with just $5,000 and hopes one day it would be worth $20million.
