The investigation was lead by the Paris prosecutor’s office and the criminal brigade of the Parisian judicial police. French newspaper Le Monde reported police were able to identify the woman through fragments of her body. The Buttes-Chaumont park has been closed to the public since. Investigators continue to search for more body parts. Located in the 19th Arrondissement in Paris, the park is one of the biggest green spaces in the capital and a popular destination for families and runners.
