French government plays down cost of strikes after huge turnout against pension reform

Strikes in protest at plans to raise the French retirement age are unlikely to hurt the country's economy, Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire said Friday, after more than a million people rallied across the country in protest at the planned pension overhaul.
