Country Music Star Loretta Lynn Dies at 90

The country music singer and songwriter lived in poverty for the majority of her early life while growing up in Kentucky’s coalfields. Lynn topped country music charts in 1967 and had 16 Number 1 hits, according to Billboard, releasing multiple gold albums over the course of her six-decade career, and managed to escape poverty through storytelling.
