BESIEGED Ukraine was facing panic and chaos last night as it was revealed a network of bomb shelters has locked doors – and includes a lap dancing club. Authorities in capital Kiev have released a map listing thousands of shelters across the nation where millions can seek refuge from a Russian blitz. A list of shelters in the capital includes a lap-dancing club It seems like the Penthouse Gentleman’s Club also operates as a shelter in case of an attack But many bunkers at addresses checked yesterday had the word “shelter” daubed on locked steel doors. And one was the address of the seedy Penthouse Gentleman’s Club in the city centre – where a female midget dressed as a doorman ushered us in to meet strippers. A manager at the basement club grinned when asked whether we could shelter with his girls if Vladimir Putin’s forces attack – and demanded a £100 entry fee. The club boss said: “I can’t tell you whether we’re a shelter or not but you’re welcome to come in and meet the girls – but you must pay.” A digital map released by Kyiv’s mayor, the former heavyweight boxing champion Vitali Klitschko, also gave addresses for basement pharmacies, bars and coffee shops. A woman at one location said: “I have no idea where there is a shelter. If we get bombed, I’ll just have to hope for the best.” Most read in The Sun LITTLE BROTHER Big Brother's Grace & Mikey welcome fourth baby and reveal his adorable name MASON RAPE PROBE Mason Greenwood STILL being quizzed by cops today on suspicion of rape GUN COPS SWARM Armed police rush to estate & locals told to stay indoors amid 'incident' 'COULDN'T LET GO' I cradled my dead baby for hours after she died on holiday, says 90s star RAPE PROBE Mason Greenwood arrested on suspicion of rape & GBH after domestic abuse claim WHAT THE L I failed my driving test before even turning on the engine - here's why At another, a rusty steel door was securely locked and marked with a keyholder’s phone number which went unanswered when called. A jeweller living in an apartment block listed as another shelter said: ‘It’s the first I’ve heard that we had a bomb shelter in the basement. “I’ve no idea how to get in there – the door is always padlocked.” Klitschko told businesses: “‘In case of possible bombing, the citizens of the capital will be able to hide in the buildings which in peacetime are used for different purposes, particularly for domestic needs of people. “But in case of emergency, these shelters will be used to protect citizens.” Locals in Kiev – including around 1,000 Brits – were last night fearing a Russian attack from more than 200,000 troops loyal to Putin massed to Ukraine’s North, South and East. A huge force was growing to the north in neighbouring Belarus amid fears of missile and air raids that could be unleashed on the capital at any time. Russia was blamed last night for a wave of bomb threats targeting schools and communter hubs which further cranked up tension across Ukrainian capital Kiev. The number of bomb warnings delivered – sparking panic and mass evacuations – has increased six-fold to around 300 in the past month. And callous callers targeted children in school yesterday, as well as the city’s Tsentralnyi Railway Station and Igor Sikorsky International Airport. Ukrainian police have checked more than 3,000 buildings since the latest spate of warnings as thousands of Russian troops ringed the nation’s borders. All of the threats have turned out to be hoaxes and were combined with a spate of cyber attacks by Kremlin hackers as Putin’s forces waged new “hybrid” warfare. It comes as mums and grandads have pledged to fight Putin’s army to the death – as they trained for war in Ukraine holding wooden rifles. In an inspirational show of grit, hundreds of ordinary folk assembled for military drills in snow-covered abandoned railways sidings outside the capital Kiev. The Self Defence Force recruits cut a touching Dad’s Army dash as their rag-tag ranks lined up in an assortment of winter coats and sportswear.
