A FIREFIGHTING plane has horrifically crashed while trying to douse bushfires on the south coast of Australia. Two people on board the Boeing 737-3 aircraft were seriously injured after it smashed into the Fitzgerald River National Park. The water bomber crashed in the Fitzgerald River National Park in Australia It had taken off from the Busselton-Margaret River Regional Airport, where it is stationed, at 3.30pm before crashing at the fireground. It comes as bushfires raged through the national park, already incinerating a whopping 900 hectares of land. The two crew members were taken to Ravensthorpe for medical treatment for minor injuries and the Royal Flying Doctor Service has mobilised a team to bring them to Perth if required.
