Biden set to speak after U.S. hits 'significant' al-Qaeda target in Afghanistan

WASHINGTON â President Joe Biden will address the nation Monday evening following a CIA counterterrorism strike against a "significant Al Qaeda target" in Afghanistan on Sunday.

"The operation was successful and there were no civilian casualties," said a senior Biden administration official, speaking on the condition of anonymity.

Biden is slated to speak from the White House at 7:30 p.m. ET.
