Berlin crash: One dead & at least 10 people injured after car ploughs into shoppers and smashes into department store

A CAR has driven into a crowd in Berlin injuring at least 10 people, emergency services have confirmed. German news publications claim one woman has been killed following the car smash in the centre of Berlin. The incident is reported to have taken place outside the historic Kaiser-Wilhelm Church close to the city’s zoo. Police and fire crews have been pictured at the scene, where a silver car can be seen sticking out of a department store building front. Berlin’s fire department says 60 emergency responders are either on site or en route to what they described as a “mass casualty event”. Heavily armed police are also in place at Breitscheidplatz and the area has been closed off by emergency services.
