BA.2: Highly Infectious Omicron Subtype Detected in 57 Countries

The WHO has identified three omicron sub-variants: BA.1, BA.2 and BA.3. According to reports, BA.2 has displaced its earliest forms whereas BA.1 as has been detected in several countries. BA.2 is believed to be more infectious, but whether it severely affects immunity has yet to be assessed.
