Authorities in Eastern DR Congo Warn of Possible Eruption of Nyamulagira Volcano

Considered the biggest of its kind in 100 years, Nyamulagira's last major eruption took place in 2011. Unlike Mount Nyiragongo, another volcano in the region that killed at least 32 people in the neighboring city of Goma when it erupted in May 2021, previous external eruptions of Nyamulagira did not directly threaten nearby residents.
