At least 14 dead in mass shooting at bar after gunmen burst in and began ‘randomly firing’

AT LEAST 14 people have died in a mass shooting at a bar in South Africa. A gunman burst into a nightspot in Soweto, Johannesburg just after midnight. Gauteng Police Commissioner Elias Mawela said this morning: “Primary investigations suggest the people were enjoying themselves in the tavern. “They just came in and shot at them randomly.” Detectives are on the scene. “The age range is just an estimation from my detectives to say they are between 19 and 35 years,” he told outlet ENCA. Orlando police station commander Brigadier Nonhlanhla Kubeka said more information will be released soon. The horror comes just a fortnight after 22 people died in a “poisoning” at a club in another South African city. Bodies were found “strewn across tables and chairs” after the tragedy, which happened as students celebrated the end of their exams with a party. There were “no visible injuries” to the bodies, which were discovered in Enyobeni Tavern in the coastal city of East London.
