Al-Shabaab Terrorist Group Seeks Dialogue, Somali Gov't Says

Al-Shabaab*, an al-Qaida-affiliated* militant group, has been terrorizing Somalia and other countries in East Africa for years. It has carried out numerous acts of violence in Mogadishu, Somalia’s capital, as well as in the central and southern regions of the state, hampering the process of recovery and rebuilding after decades of civil war.
