Police in Ottawa began arresting leaders of the ‘Freedom Convoy’ protests on Thursday night and Friday morning. Tens of thousands of demonstrators led by long-haul truck drivers descended on the Canadian capital in late January to protest Covid vaccine mandates and mandatory quarantine periods for unvaxxed truckers coming back from the US.
