African Union Extends ATMIS Troops Presence in Somalia in Wake of Resurgence of Al-Shabaab Attacks

Over the past few weeks, Al-Shabaab*, a terrorist group linked to al-Qaeda*, has claimed responsibility for a number of attacks across the country, including the Somali capital city of Mogadishu. Two recent attacks on November 5 and October 30 took the lives of at least 115 people.
